Terrasphere

Terrasphere was the first project for our dev team of 6, and as 1 of 2 designers for the game, i worked with both programming and art to integrate the work of multiple people into the game as well as program a few systems of my own, such as the plant growth system and the terraform system.

I also worked with the character artist who created and animated our little astronaut main character to bring them from modeling soft ware into the game engine, working out issues and problems that came up during the process

Within the game engine, I also helped create the terraform system. we discussed having the planet turn green to show the player’s impact on the game in a more visual sense, and for that, we decided on a texture change for the planet, as well as grass and trees that would grow around planted seeds and when certain levels of terraform is met, I created a system that manages these aspects.

<<< Orbit Manager

I created a manager script that spawns and orbits asteroids around the main planet, here it is shown with increased density.

Terraforming Trigger>>>

For the trailer of the game, i created a trigger that interacts with the established terraform system to quickly grow the hidden plants to show effect.
